One God, One Faith, One School

Welcome to the Third Grade
Ms. Kay Pemberton Teacher

Welcome
Hello!  I am Kay Pemberton, and look forward to working with your child in Third Grade this year.  Catholic education has always been part of my life.  I attended a Catholic school from First through 12th grade.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Mercy College in Detroit.  My Masters degree was earned at MSU.

I chose to teach in a Catholic school because it was important to me to be in a Christ-centered environment.

I began my teaching career at St. Mary School in Williamston where I taught First Grade for 18 years.  I came to IHM in 1991 to teach Second Grade.  After 12 years, I moved up to Third Grade.  This is my fifth year at this level.  That’s a total of 35 years of teaching!

I make my home in Williamston.  I love the small town atmosphere I enjoy exercising at the “Y”, bike riding, and taking walks.

Philosophy
As a teacher in a Catholic school setting, one of my first priorities is the spiritual development of each child.  Your child and I will be on a faith journey this year.

I will also be focusing on the social and emotional development of your child.

I will work to meet the educational needs of each child as unique individuals,.

Education is a partnership between school and home and I look forward to a great year working with you and your child.
