The Domestic Church
“I must own, I looked at Papa more than at the preacher, for I read many things in his face. Sometimes his eyes were filled with tears which he strove in vain to keep back; and as he listened to the eternal truths he seemed no longer of this earth.” These moving words were written by St. Thérèse of Lisieux, a young saint who died at just 24 years old, yet became one of only four female Doctors of the Church. Her witness beautifully illustrates the unique, irreplaceable power parents have to catechize their own children—a truth the Church has held sacred since its very foundation.
The Catholic Church beautifully refers to the family as the “Domestic Church,” and “little church.” As Lumen Gentium states, "In it parents should, by their word and example, be the first preachers of the faith to their children" (LG 11). The Catechism of the Catholic Church underscores this profound responsibility: “The role of parents in education is of such importance that it is almost impossible to provide an adequate substitute” (CCC 2221). This is precisely where our Family Catechesis program meets you.
We recognize that you are the primary and best educator of your children. Your lived faith creates a foundation of love within your home that no classroom can replicate. Our mission is simply to support you. We will utilize a Family of Faith program, created by the Sophia Institute. This program provides practical formation and resources to help you seamlessly integrate the faith into your daily routine, structured around the liturgical year and the pillars of the Catechism.
We are incredibly excited to offer this program as it is designed to thrive in every unique household. Whether your children are educated at home, in a Catholic school, or in a public school, this curriculum removes the guesswork and makes living the liturgical year both achievable and joyful.
Beyond home resources, this program is designed to build a vibrant community. It offers a space for you to connect with other parents, while giving your children a strong, supportive faith community to grow up in. After all, we are made in the image and likeness of a God who is Himself a communion of persons—we are never meant to walk this journey alone.
Our Family Catechesis program will run from October through May, with two meetings (one parent meeting and one community meeting) each month.

- Monthly Parent Night: We gather to dive deeply into the monthly topic, equipping you with the tools you need to guide your child. Parent nights will always take place on the first Tuesday of the month following the 6 p.m. Mass. Childcare and dinner are provided.
- Monthly Community Night: A fun gathering where children build friendships, families support one another in faith, and we explore the sacraments and prayer together.
- At-Home Learning: You teach your children at home, weaving lessons naturally into the rhythm of your unique lifestyle. We provide all the books and supplies to make this easy for you.
